Kate, early years
Aged just 6, Kate kicked off her musical journey with classical violin lessons. At 10 she started to play piano as well, and also had vocal training in school. In high school she became very interested in all kinds of genres, and her violin skills got better with influences from classical, folk, pop, rock and jazz. Before studying at the Târgu-Mures University of Arts, she joined a classical orchestra in Vienna and improved her technique for a year. Starting university studies, she collaborated with different theatre directors from Hungary and Romania. Her improvisation skills proved essential in Heinrich von Kleis’ tragicomedy “Amphitryion” – directed by Hargitai Ivan. Following Amphitryon’s success she was noticed by her hometown fellow – director Liviu Pancu that led to another great collaboration in a remarkable production of “The history of religions” ( “Istoria religiilor” ) by Mircea Eliade.
Solo career
Beside the gathered experience as a violin player, all this time Kate has always been influenced by great singers. Collaborating with music producer Kovacs Norbert she successfully released a few original songs in Hungarian; consequently they were broadcasted by local radios in heavy rotation.
